Lisa Matteson Licensed Massage Therapist
Lisa Matteson brings 30 years of training and experience to her Albuquerque medical massage therapy practice. Lisa has a mature intuitive knowledge and a gentle spirit that allows her to treat her clients on the physical and energetic level. Lisa takes pride in being able to identity the source of pain in her clients and to relieve that pain.
'I have lymphedema in my right arm. I had been seen by an OT and PT’s. They would look at my arm and were afraid to touch me. I found Lisa M. she started massage therapy on 1st week of September. I got treatment once a week until December. In December I was able to go every other week. At the end of March I will start therapy every 3 weeks. My arm has lost so much fluid that I can now fit into a garment with Velcro. I have been feeling better. I recommend Lisa to anyone especially if they have Lymphedema I have been dealing with this for 19 years.'

"When I saw Lisa I was stuck in a job where abuse was present and I was trying find a safe way out of that situation. I had hip pain that had been with me for many years. I thought that it was a result of my mild scoliosis. I also thought it was due to one of my legs being longer than the other. I told Lisa about all of these things, as she worked on me. I was surprised because rather than focus on my hip she spent a lot of time on my head and asked me if I had headaches. I was not having headaches but her focus helped me realize how I was holding the stress of abuse at my job. As for my hip pain she was easily able to identify the source. ‘It’s the way you are sitting’, she said. It seemed like an overly simple reason, but…..since then I have chosen to sit differently and within a few months the pain is almost entirely gone now. It was not my scoliosis and my legs are not different sizes. Lisa brought an awareness to my physical pain points that I hadn’t been able to discern on my own. I left that job.
